My Dad The Toy Maker

My dad is one of the most talented wood workers I know. I just love his wood working and last year I was able to visit him in California to learn a few things. I really want to be able to do some wood working of my own and am still wanting to get a hold of some tools so I can do so.

For the kids this year my dad sent a whole bunch of awesome wood toys for the kids. My favorite are the wooden puzzles he made. They are so cool! Its hard to see in the pictures, but they are all very detailed and cut precise. The boys opened up a whole bunch of all different Dinosaurs and then Chase was made a special brown bear one. I have enjoyed putting these together as well. They are not easy. The kids have put some together by themselves already. Even Avery wanted in on the puzzle action in the picture below. It was so funny when my kids asked me if Grandpa Gary is a toy maker for Santa. I told them.... pretty much! He is very talented.

Avery loved opening her wooden pull toy duck! It is so perfect for her and she was pulling it right after she opened it. My dad did an amazing job with all the pull toys he made. You can see in the pictures below a view of all the ones he made the kids. There is a duck, a bus with people that go up and down when you pull it, a kangaroo and baby in its pouch, a frog, and then my dad made Carson a special front loader truck. Carson really liked the front loader truck as you can see in the picture. These were so fun for the kids to open and they are special toys we will have and hold on to. Thank you so much Dad for the wonderful hand made gifts. They are AWESOME!
