Florida Orange Groves

One of our first outings we made with my brother and his family while in town was to an orange grove. There is a famous "You Pick Citrus" right down the road from my house. It is such a cute, fun place. It has been family owned for three generations. My sister-in-law Stacy, and her four girls, Klarissa, Savannah, Victoria, and Isabella along with my three kiddos got a chance to pick oranges straight from the trees. The very first thing we did was taste test all the different types of oranges and Tangerines that were in season. They have so many varieties I didn't' even know the names of some of them. It was so cool because they slice the fruit right in front of you and everyone gets to try the orange. Before heading out to pick, the kids played on the playground they have there. I love the original teeter totter. The kids took turns playing on it. After a little play, we headed out to the groves. Isabella, the youngest of the Vincent clan, pulled the wagon the whole time. The kids all picked oranges of the varieties we picked out to eat. It was a perfect sunny day and such a fun family outing. My niece Klarissa wins the award for most eaten oranges in one day. This girl likes her oranges and she eats every bit of it. Klarissa, you rock!
